Marshall JMP 2203 (w/ Frank Levi Slash Mod) - This amp is INSANE!
Take a classic Marshall JMP 2203 from 1978, give it a true "Frank Levi #34 mod" by Frank Levi himself, know that it's been in a studio for decades, un-abused, and then have it carefully serviced by one of the best amp techs in Los Angeles before cranking it up and putting it in the Kemper. This is as close as most of us will ever get to playing an amp built for Slash, George Lynch, or Warren DeMartini, in the glory days of the 1980's!
The amount of saturation on this amp is ridiculous. It's definitely got that classic vibe, but it's somehow defined yet incredibly spongy and responsive, all at once. It's also a one trick pony, and you kind of have to like that trick.
So here's the trick it does: It's a spongy and fuzz-like saturation that you can hide inside of, with really defined mids, classically voiced, but on steroids. If that's your thing, then here's your amp!
