EVH 5150 III: Stealth and Deadly!

The 5150 III is on the list of many players all-time great amps. It's got 3 channels, a soaring mid-range, killer clean tones, and enough gain to blaze through the most exreme metal imaginable. It's already one of the best amps of all time but this is Chaos Tones! So This particular 5150 III had to be taken up a notch! Actually, it was taken up multiple notches!

First it was outfitted with stealth controls by the best amp modder in the Los Angeles area. Stealth Knobs are a standard feature, but not on this model. That mod is a hand wired 1:1 against the usual stealth. Then it was given a variac, per-channel voicing options, and an additional gain stage! This is an awesome amp, that has a really incredible character, and it's exciting to share some of those here! Enjoy!

This set includes 23 different profiles of the EVH 5150 III amp, used in conjunction with the gear listed below.

Cabs used: Engl 4x12 w/ Celestion Vintage 30s, Krank 4x12 w/ Eminence Legends, Diezel 2x12 w/ Celestion Vintage 30s, Mesa Boogie 1x12 w/ Celestion Vintage 30s

*Most Chaos Tones profiles have an EQ in the post-amp orange fx slot that helps to rebalance the tone that was lost from the profiling process. You'll also find tonal descriptions in the meta data for each profile. Most rhythm profiles were captured with slightly more low end than is necessary in a mix, but it's fun, and easier to remove those frequencies than it is to add what was never captured. Enjoy!
