Some people go as far as to call it the best circuit of the best amp designer, ever. Debatable...

But the 100B is almost completely unobtainable! Only about 100 were ever made between 1992, and 1993. Then the circuit was changed and it was never revisited.

Most of them went to big name guitar players, big studios, renown rental comapnies, etc, and the people who own them, hoarde them. As a result, these "collector" amps almost never go up for sale! I got INCREDIBLY lucky and found this one for sale when a local studio gear rental business opted for retirement. The seller claims that this amp was used to record Jerry Cantrell's Boggy Depot album, that it had long term rental by Korn, and various other relevance. Given the rarity of these amps and the seller's history in Los Angeles based studio rentals, it's most likely that this is true, but I haven't been able to verify any of those claims.

My honest assessment is, that this is the best sounding and feeling mid/high gain amp that I've ever played through. The hype is real. While there's no way that the Kemper could possibly recreate all the nuances of this brilliant piece of artwork, I can still say that I think that these are among my favorite profiles I've ever played with.

It's saturated with definition, without feeling dry. It has a well balanced frequency response. The lows never get out of control, the mids always find a great spot to sit, and the mic selection gives a nice range of tonal variance.

I captured all 3 channels through a Bogner rear-loaded 4x12 Uberkab, loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s, using 5 different mics, plus an amp direct signal.

Mics: Royer R-10, Shure SM57, Audix i5, Sennheiser e609, Beyerdynamic M160

Not surprisingly, searching the internet shows that these are probably the only Bogner Ecstasy 100B profiles available anywhere. This may be as close to the legendary amp as you'll ever get

Enjoy!
